    Restoring Your Indoor Air Quality

Hydroxyls are the the most effective method for: KILLING mold, bacteria, and viruses ERADICATING unpleasant odors, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), chemical fumes, gases and vapors. Go-GREEN Hydroxyls Generators are: 100% safe for people, pets, plants, rubber, plastic, vinyl, textiles, electronics, and other sensitive materials 33% more effective at oxidizing pollutants than ozone 2.5 times more germicidal and fungicidal than liquid chlorine How It Works QCIs hydroxyl generators implement a dual process attack on contaminants:

    • The processing chamber sanitizes airflow and produces hydroxyls.
    • The hydroxyl molecules exit the chamber to decontaminated surfaces and contents.

Contaminated air is directed into the chamber where ambient humidity and multiple nanometer wavelengths and frequencies combine to create an oxidizing formula and produce hydroxyls. The quartz crystal optics are finely tuned to deodorize air flow and eradicate bacteria and other microorganisms. The purified air is recycled back into the environment along with hydroxyls to further decontaminate surfaces and contents.

      Mold Testing Before Mold Remediation

As outlined in the IICRC S-520 Environments, costly and complex sampling and testing is not necessary when you have a visible mold problem. Mold inspection design to set the parameters for the remediation. Home Enviro will not initiate an mold remediation project for your insurance company on Level IV - Extensive contamination over 100 contiguous square feet and Level V-VI Involve HVAC contaminations without the input of a certified mold testing company (No Conflict Of Interest Third-Party Mold Testing) to define the boundaries of the affected area needing remediation. If the current levels are unknown, it is difficult to establish that progress has been made. Your insurance company demands testing prior to payment or before any work can be be started.

      What is Mold Remediation Protocol?

Home Enviro recommends Licensed Industrial Hygienist or Certified Licensed Mold Inspector to write customized Mold Remediation Protocols. A poorly written mold remediation protocol can increase project costs for the homeowner and create liabilities for the remediation company. A Remediation Protocol outlines the needed actions for any necessary mold remediation. Each plan is individually prepared based on the Indoor Environmental Consultants Mold Assessment of the property the size and area of the mold contamination.

A properly prepared Mold Remediation Protocol should be written according to the ANSI Aproved IICRC S-520 standard and reference guide for the remediation of mold damaged structures and contents.

The Remediation Protocol will specify the remediation containment strategy, decontamination areas, negative air pressure and air filtration (air scrubbing), equipment utilization, personnel protective equipment, specific cleaning protocols, project completion requirements, site-specific safety plan and clearance testing that will confirm the post remediation goals have been met.

Mold Removal

We highly recommend that the area to be treated is unoccupied (Level V-VI - 5-6 Involve HVAC contaminations).

Dangerous TOXIC MOLD spores can travel through the air. Vacating people from spaces adjacent to the work area is not necessary but is recommended in the presence of infants (less than 12 months old), persons recovering from recent surgery, immune suppressed people, or people with chronic inflammatory lung diseases (e.g., asthma, hypersensitivity pneumonitis, and severe allergies). Our highly skilled MOLD REMOVAL experts are trained in the handling of hazardous materials. They are outfitted with respirators and full body protective covering.

    • Achieve negative air pressure (Air Scrubbers)
    • Remove and dispose Mold damaged materials
    • Soda Blasting Process (If Needed)
    • Apply antimicrobial treatment (EPA Approved Products)
    • HEPA vacuum and clean-up (Wipe Down) all surfaces
    • Run Hydroxyl Generators (Green Technology) for air and surface purification. For optimal results, Hydroxyl generators need to be present on the job site as early as possible. We recommend four to five days of generator operation.
    • Conduct clearance TESTING (No Conflict Of Interest Third-Party Clearance Testing)
    • Remove containment
    • Apply MOLD prevention coating (FIBERLOCK 10 YEAR WARRANTY!) A warranty is only as good as the company behind it. Home Enviro provides a 10-year warranty on all mold remediation services performed at your property. This warranty guarantees that mold will not return to the areas remediated. NOTE: Every MOLD REMEDIATION situation varies. The size of the mold growth is the basis for the six levels of remediation. This is based upon the New York City MOLD Guidelines on Assessment and REMEDIATION of Fungi in Indoor Environments and the EPA MOLD REMOVAL Guidelines and the IIRC S520 protocols and IIRC S520 - Second Edition.

The levels of Mold contamination are based on six levels as follows:
    • Level I - A small isolated area less then 10 square feet
    • Level II - Mid sized isolated area of 10 to 30 square feet
    • Level III - Large isolated area 30 to 100 square feet
    • Level IV - Extensive contamination over 100 contiguous square feet
    • Level V-VI - Involve HVAC contaminations

In most cases a level I or II contamination can be remediated quickly and effectively without exhausted methods. Areas of extensive growth that require the installation of a containment and negative air system require a much more detailed approach.

As outlined in the IICRC S-520 Environments, costly and complex sampling and testing is not necessary when you have a visible mold problem. The proper step is to take action and have the mold removed. Understanding this important process can save you several thousands of dollars.

Home Enviro recommends a third party PVRT clearance test after the completion of any remediation project in a Residential, Commercial or Institutional building, any contamination involving HVAC systems, and contaminations involving health problems. Third party completed clearance testing is completed by an independent testing agency. Samples are taken and measured against outdoor background levels to confirm that remediation was successful.

      AC Mold Contamination and Remediation:

Home Enviro believe that AC ducts are destined to become moldy. While all AC ducts will likely grow some mold and will become discolored with visible mold or visible dust to some degree, it is not normal or healthy for ducts to become excessively moldy, or to produce a strong MOLD ODOR. TOXIC MOLD spores from AC ducts result in health problems and even MOLD ODORS in the absence of spores have been shown to cause health problems. Keeping ducts free of excessive mold is important. Our AC subcontractors professionals are CERTIFIED by NADCA - National Air Duct Cleaners Association qualified, and trained in complete step-by-step cleaning and REMEDIATION processes, and use highly specialized and proprietary tools and processes to do the job right the first time.

Should You Have the Air Ducts in Your Home Cleaned?

      U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
This federal agency was established to protect human health and safeguard the natural environment of the United States.

Two main reasons why AC ducts become moldy:

      • The importance of proper sizing and the location of AC units
      • Entrainment - is when AC units pull contaminated air from inside attics or walls or other undesirable areas
